Rainbow Row

Rainbow Row refers to the row of pastel-colored historic homes located on East Bay Street, just along the Battery. These homes were constructed in 1740 but were not made colorful until the 1930’s when Dorothy Porcher Legge and her husband judge Lionel Legge transformed these homes from the slums they were to the beautiful iconic Charleston row they are now.
