Our Story

HOW WE MET: Crystal and Anthony met on Folly Beach in the Fall of 2010. It was during Crystals first week at the College of Charleston while exploring Folly Beach with her new roommates. Matt Manoogian who happened to live near Crystal in the dorms invited them to meet some of his friends who were Juniors including none other than Anthony. Matt, being one of Anthony’s and Crystal’s closest friends and the one who brought them together, will be officiating the wedding!

OUR RELATIONSHIP: Although Crystal and her friends were shy at first, Matt was able to introduce her to Anthony and they hit it off right away. They spent the remaining two years of Anthony’s time at CofC as close friends and managed to keep in touch even after he graduated. It wasn’t until after Crystal’s graduation and big move to New York that they began dating and shaping a future together. Fast forward three years of life in the East Village (use your imagination…) and it was time to take the next step! No, not engagement, Anthony needed a little more time, so that comes later. They moved into a tiny one bedroom apartment with no gas, hardly any windows and a few unwelcome mice as roommates. After two years living there and growing even closer to each other, they knew they could tackle anything. So it was once again time to take the next step… still no, not engagement. They moved onto a more comfortable apartment in Williamsburg where they adopted their pup, Zander, and even started to resemble real adults. A short six months later, they took the big next step and, yes finally, got engaged!!

THE PROPOSAL: On December 12, 2019 Anthony got down on one knee in their favorite Brooklyn waterside park with Zander in tow and the Williamsburg Bridge arching in the background. Anthony had arranged for their friends to be hiding in strategic locations to shoot candid photos of them and despite kneeling in the wrong spot, making Crystal wait for 10 final feet and Zander barking confusedly at the photographers, the proposal was perfect in every way. As Will McIntosh, Jason Peet and Matt Manoogian emerged from their hiding locations (and Zander recognized their familiar faces) Crystal let out an excited yet unsurprised “FIIINNAALLLYYY”.

THE POSTPONEMENT: After many hard conversations and trying to figure out how to have a safe, fun COVID wedding we decided the safest option for all would be to postpone our wedding from 6.12.21 to 5.14.22.

“Like our engagement day, our relationship is goofy, fun-loving and sometimes includes Zander barking. We’re so excited to share this special day with you all and look forward to celebrating in the city where it all started!!” – Crystal and Anthony
